Be a Rebel. BE YOU.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I did something silly the other day.
I wanted to film my workout, but I stopped. Because I looked at myself, and I was wearing these loose joggers. And a baggy tank. And I couldn't stop thinking that "everyone else" out there is filming fitness videos in their skintight leggings and cropped shirts, and how will I look in comparison?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then I [metaphorically] slapped myself. And I snapped some pics, and I smiled, because you know what?
I was comfortable, and able to easily move, and I LIKED HOW I LOOKED.
So WTF was I worrying about? And why was I holding back on providing even a single person with potentially valuable information?
It can be difficult,
even after years of inner work and introspection, to get caught up in the hamster wheel of "how is everyone else doing things?", and "what's going to happen if I stray from the formula that seems to work?" It's funny, because I am a questioner, + am often quick to scoff at the status quo. And yet there is still a part of me that lets that critical voice creep in.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a world that seems to run on social media trends + fashion that often only works for a teeny portion of the population, I dare you to be different! Even being YOU = being a Rebel these days, and it's one of the most important things you'll ever do for yourself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, don't give away your power of choice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wear the sweats if you want.
Eat the meat.
Go to bed at 8pm.
Be a nerd (or an athlete, or a musician, or programmer, or theater geek <- spoken by one). ⠀⠀Be a nerd (or an athlete, or a musician, or programmer, or theater geek <- spoken by one). ⠀⠀
Do what makes YOU feel your best, and be your most capable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You owe it to yourself, and you'll love yourself more for it later. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(Trust me, I enough North Face + Ugg regrets for most of us :p. )⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are you doing lately that makes you a rebel?
Yours in Wellness,
Liz
